Combarine (Puy-St-Pierre)
Access is possible from spring to autumn via a mountain trail leading off from the road to Puy-St-André.
This route allows you to discover the moste complete coal series in the South East of France in the area of the old mine of Combarine. Artisanal mining of coal until 1929 has made it possible to access different stratigraphic levels and observe many fossils and Carboniferous sedimentary structures (300 million years). These rocks are the oldest sediments in the Briançonnais and can be accessed easily along a landscaped, marked trail.
